Group accommodation in West Flanders

Walking holidays between the Lys and Scheldt

Explore from one base between the Lys and Scheldt rivers. From Trimaarzate in Moen, follow the canal, former railway and paths through the green surroundings. Return to a comfortable home for your walking group of 16.

A walking holiday between the Lys and Scheldt

At Trimaarzate, your walk can start at the front door. Follow the Bossuit-Kortrijk canal towpath or explore the path along the former railway line. From Moen, head into the countryside between the Lys and Scheldt for a short morning stroll or a longer day outdoors.

Walk at your group’s pace

Not everyone needs to cover the same distance. Choose a waterside stroll or plan a longer loop with the resources on our walking routes page. Agree a time to meet back at the holiday home and share the rest of the day.

Ideas for more than one day

Combine the paths beside the house with a visit to Orveytbos woodland. With children, the Prikkelpad and De Gavers offer other ways to enjoy being outside. Our walking routes page helps you choose a destination and route to suit your time and companions.

Come back to a shared evening

Every bedroom has its own shower and washbasin. Back at the house, cook and eat together in the spacious living area, or enjoy the countryside from the garden and terrace. The end of a day’s walking is another chance to spend time together.

Bring your walking group

There are 16 beds across five bedrooms. Check the layout and rates to prepare your stay. With paths beside the house, you can also head out spontaneously without needing to drive every day.

A walking break with water, woods and towns

Give each day a different starting point. Begin beside the canal at Trimaarzate, then explore the Scheldt wetlands near Avelgem, followed by Kluisbos or Muziekbos near Ronse on another day. Open countryside, sheltered woodland paths and hills bring variety to the stay.

For the forests of the Flemish Ardennes, arrange transport to your starting point. Consider elevation and unpaved paths when choosing a route. Our walking routes link to sources for comparing distances, starting points and terrain.

A shorter walking day in Oudenaarde or Ronse

For a gentler day, walk through Oudenaarde with a pause near the market square and the Scheldt. Ronse also offers a town-centre walk with a heritage stop. Some guests can choose a cultural outing while others plan a longer walk. Agree where you will meet afterwards.
